The Extinction Project

2019

Officially called the “Say Something” project, other designers and I were tasked with picking a modern issue to design about. I decided to take on extinction, though in a slightly different angle- my designs focused on animals that we have already lost. Creatures deemed effectively extinct in the wild, those who have not been seen in years, others who have been wiped off the face of the earth.

Each color represents how the animals were lost. Red for animals lost to hunting (ex. Western Black Rhino), blue for those lost to sea/sky pollution (ex. Rockland Meske's Skipper), green for habitat destruction (ex. Malaysian Jewel), and yellow for those lost more indirect means (ex. Hawaiian Crow).
